A 2.1 million SF entertainment district is a second phase adjacent to a similarly-sized retail project by the same owner. The client desired to have architectural continuity in materials and massing. The new scheme referenced the spatial characteristics of great urban spaces, including Rockefeller Center to Via del Corso. Buildings range from large to small, connected by streets and plazas second level and a second level promenade. The program brief called for an ice skating rink at the negative one level. A multistory atrium is covered by a skylight based upon an ancient Chinese lattice pattern evoking frozen ice, casting patterns onto the ice surface 6 stories below. The towers improved the previous schemes in massing, detail and composition with more depth and strongly sculpted ends* Under Construction *designed while Senior Principal | Design at HOK Los Angeles/Seattle
